Unintentional Participation…Thank Goodness

146009045_7cb66733e3Phew. Thank goodness I listened to my inner food devil and gave into a piece of bread smothered with Nutella last night. Yesterday was World Nutella Day and I only discovered this today. Who knows what would’ve happened had I not observed this day.

I love Nutella, it’s my favourite condiment, really. I remember, as a child (and sometimes as an adult), I used to eat it by the spoonful. One summer, my cousins and I were at the cottage, all seven of us were sitting in the great room passing around a jar of Nutella and a spoon and I’m positive we managed to polish off that jar in 10 minutes or so.

Mmmmm…Nutmella (as I so affectionally refer to it ever now and then). Have you had it? Do you love it?

  1. I LOVE nutella. Actually, I have to be honest, I have the poor man’s substitute right now. I thought I would try a different brand, but something’s off about it. It’s Italian (the packaging is entirely in Italian), so maybe it’s different hazelnuts? Regardless, I’m steadily making my way through it…it’s not good.

  2. Olga, please do us both a favour and come over after work. I will make you a nutella sandwich… With real nutella. Throw that substitute away!

  3. yum, yum, yum…nutella with banana on a french baguette (preferably in paris where my addiction to it started). that and a good cup of coffee = the best breakfast in the world. :)

  4. please, don’t get me started on the nutella/banana combo. I’ve been known to enjoy that combination of sweetness in all its glory at cafe crepe. Melting nutella topped with warm banana, wrapped in a freshly made crepe. Droolworthy.
